wish me luck....

i wish i had taken the 'before' but it is too ugly for me to even look at so i will not subject y'all to it...i am officially starting my bedroom transformation from a room that is drab and (keep your fingers crossed) turning it into fab....the first step- painting. the lovely shade of khaki is no longer working. while i liked it when we moved in 4 1/2 yrs ago, i now want something fresh...so i am painting it.....white! i have had my paint chips out for over a month trying to decide on the perfect shade of white. do you know how many shades of white actually exist? do y'all have any favorites?? as a designer it is so hard for me to commit to things...just b/c i feel like i am constantly seeing new fabulous stuff. but i am super excited about my headboard and am not looking back....however, i can't put her in place until the room is painted so i better go get started....

From the looks of your past work, you will not need any luck missy! Have so much fun though!! :) Let us know the shade you choose - it is daunting finding the perfect shade of white! Although, the one in the pic you posted is pretty perfect!

Thanks for the comment! Hudson is, in my humble opinion, the perfect combination of everything. I can't wait to see the pics of your new bedroom!!

I am very excited to see how it all turns out .
I love Behr's popped corn for a real true white, and for a warmer creamy white I love Behr's Palatial White.

I can't wait to see the finished product! I laughed out loud about the whites, because I know exactly what you are talking about! I always like Benjamin Moore White Dove and Decorator White...

Oh, I know all about the many shades of white! I think my husband was floored when I was trying to find the perfect one for our bathroom a few years ago! I went with Snowball, which I love, from the now defunct Martha Stewart line from Sherwin Williams.

Good luck with the painting; I'm looking forward to seeing the end results of the makeover!

of course it will be amazing. let us know the color and show us some pics. ps. i am looking for a white with a slight pink, like inside of a shell. want that for my bedroom, but don't know what the hubbie would think of a pink bedroom. any suggestions?

I'm also a fan of Benjamin Moore's White Dove. In other news, I'm so sad that Cottage Living is shutting down :(

It is overwhelming to see all the many shades of white. It's hard sometimes they lean towards green or yellow or blue or they are just too bright.

I just got House Beautiful Colors for your Home book in the mail the other day (It's part of a give away I'm doing, but I ordered an extra one for myself) They have a bunch of good options. Let me know if you still haven't picked one and I'll email their choices.

Can't wait to see what you do!
